The NIJ 0101.07 RF2 standard provides a defined testing category for rifle threats beyond traditional Level III requirements.
For years, many armor manufacturers used terms like “Level III+” to describe enhanced rifle protection. RF2 introduces a standardized testing approach, giving users clearer information when selecting body armor.
AV2 was developed around this updated standard to provide reliable rifle-rated protection with improved material technology.

These side plates are GREAT!! They were exactly what I was looking for at an AMAZING price, especially when I was able to utilize the awesome military/veteran discount. This armor while I haven't tested it looks and feels like it's a piece of artwork. I do feel safe just having it.

Comfy and mobile. Maybe I'll fire a few rounds at it and update this review later. Why doesn't anyone make 6x7 though? 6x8 is too uncomfortable, 6x6 seems like there is a little space missing. 6x7 would be perfect.
The product is as advertised! I recommend the shooters cut to anyone looking to outfit their body armor rig. Very comfortable! However, I purchased the 10x12 based my chest size. Probably should have purchased the 11x14 so that it's not sliding around in the plate carrier.

Very light compared to my old plates and conforms to my body perfectly! Great value and would recommend.
Very good side plates. Very conforming to the body. Only wish CA would also sell exterior pouches for these plates, but highly recommend these.
I was very impressed the way the plate hugged my body fits well. This particular plate is very comfortable to wear.
Plate is about 2 pounds lighter and has a less pronounced curvature making it more comfortable. A nice upgrade from the earlier version.

Quality stuff
Caliber Armor is absolutely amazing!! It is light which is perfect for long hauls. It helps fight fatigue due to it's weight which anyone who has spent any significant time wearing armor knows it can drain you. The shape is perfect for all body types. Having steel armor that has multi curve is great you need movement. This armor is surprisingly thin which helps if you want to conceal it. It fits absolutely perfect in my Agilite K19 3.0. Now when I go to the range or when I do my "weekend warrior" training I am comfortable and safe. I have recommended this to everyone I know. Now I need to buy my lady a set because she loves mine.
