The Caliber Armor AV2 Multi-Curve RF2 Body Armor Plate was engineered to deliver enhanced rifle-rated protection while maintaining the durability, thin profile, and ergonomic fit customers expect from steel armor.
Built from an advanced steel alloy and featuring our PolyShield Fragmentation Protection Coating, the AV2 plate provides a next-generation option for those looking for reliable protection against modern rifle threats.
Tested to NIJ STD-0101.06 Level III, NIJ STD-0101.07 RF2, and additional special threats, AV2 bridges the gap between traditional Level III and Level IV armor protection.
Designed Around the New NIJ RF2 Standard
The NIJ 0101.07 RF2 rating was created to address threats beyond traditional Level III testing.
While NIJ Level III testing focuses on 7.62x51mm M80 ball ammunition, RF2 expands testing requirements to include additional rifle threats commonly associated with “Level III+” armor classifications.
With AV2, Caliber Armor created a steel alloy plate designed around the updated RF2 standard — offering customers clearer testing standards beyond traditional Level III+ terminology.
Multi-Curve Comfort & Advanced Construction
Protection should not come at the expense of comfort.
The AV2 features an ergonomic multi-curve design formed through a single press process, creating a natural fit that contours to the body while improving comfort and mobility.
At only 0.5 inches thick, AV2 maintains a low-profile design while reducing weight compared to traditional AR550 plates.

Every AV2 plate comes standard with our advanced PolyShield Fragmentation Protection Coating.
PolyShield provides an additional protective layer designed to help reduce fragmentation concerns associated with steel body armor.
