Introducing the first fully configurable plate carrier offered by Caliber Armor. Meet the DV8 Plate Carrier with AR550 Body Armor. Now you don’t have to suffer with your low profile shooters cut plates in a plate carrier that is designed for thick SAPI cut plates. You can choose have your shooters cut in the front for optimal mobility and have your SAPI style 10×12 plate in the back for more coverage, all the while your plate carrier fits your low profile plates like a glove. This plate carrier has been a long time in the making. We wanted to get everything just right. We worked with Army Vets, LEO and first responders. We took our customers feedback. We designed this carrier with YOU in mind.

The DV8 Plate Carrier is designed for your low profile Caliber Armor body armor plates. Made for our RF2 AV2, and AR550 Armor options.

Caliber Armor DV8 Plate Carrier and AR550 Armor is designed and fully manufactured in the USA. The DV8 AR550 Package is Berry Compliant.

The DV8 comes standard with front and back plate bag of your choice and configuration. Carrier comes with  a 4″ elastic cummerbund to keep the carrier low profile and is easily configurable with other cummerbund options. Included you will receive a two QASM modular placard to add your favorite mag and storage attachments to the carrier.

We have gone above and beyond to bring you steel body armor of a HIGHER CALIBER.

This can be seen with our bend process, our fragmentation protection coating and our finishing details. This was the material that we started with back in 2012 and have the most experience with. We’ve seen it, done it, we’ve improved it.

Steel Body Armor provides great protection that can stop multiple projectile hits. We have been working with different levels of abrasion resistant (AR) ballistic steel for years and have not found a better product than our AR550 Steel Body Armor Plates. This armor is rated at a level III+ as it can defeat special threats like M855 rounds.

All of our steel plates come in one ergonomic curve option. We have worked with LE and first responders to design a curve that you can be comfortable wearing. We provide this at no additional cost. What is unique about the way that we bend our steel is important too. We have designed a press that creates a multi curve bend in ONE step. Why is this important? When you do multiple bends to achieve a multi curve, it puts extra strain on the plate which can weaken it. We have replicated the same curves that you have seen in multi curve ceramic armor for years.

Our aggressive Shooters Cut body armor plates shaves off weight while still providing enough coverage to protect your vital organs.

Our standard AR550 plate comes coated to protect the plate from rust and the elements. One concern with Steel Armor is fragmentation containment. Some of that fragmentation is contained in the armor’s plate carrier, but there still is a risk of lethal shrapnel. We HIGHLY recommend our Caliber PolyShield Spall Protection. Caliber Armor has years of experience with specialty coatings and has formulated an anti-spall coating specifically for our armor application. This addition to your steel plate gives you peace of mind when wearing steel armor.
